YOUNG RESEARCHERS
ALdE PRIZE 2008
We are very pleased to announce that there will be a new Young researchers ALdE Prize 2008 awarded at the Applied Economics Meeting (AEM-2008) in Salamanca (Spain). This year the Prize will be for the best paper whose authors are under 35 years old. This prize is donated by Asociación  Libre de Economía (AldE) and amounts 1.500 €. All full papers (submitted by the deadline) stating their willingness to participate in the contest will be considered for the prize. The result of the selection process will be announced during the Meeting.
 
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 2008
1.
All the participants to the XI Applied Economics Meeting who are under 35 and present a paper this year can run for this prize.
2.
The papers subject to be awarded will be chosen from the most highly marked by the Scientific Committee following the rules established in the Official Announcement from the corresponding “Applied Economics Meeting”. Moreover, the opinion of the moderators where each presentation takes place will be taken into account.
3.
The Jury will be composed by the Meeting’s Scientific Committee or by those members appointed by the Committee. The president of honour of the Jury will be the ALdE President, who will have the casting vote if there is a tie. Furthermore, the secretary of the Jury will be the person who acts as secretary in the ALdE Board of Directors, with no say.
4.
The prize will be worth 1,500.00 (one thousand and five hundred) euros.
5.
The Jury will be able to award a maximum of three second prizes of no economic value whatsoever. Moreover, the Prize could be declared void.
6.
There will be no right of appeal against the decision. It will be announced in a ceremony in which the prizes and honorable mentions will be given.
7.
To take part in the prize means fully accepting the present conditions.
